              I had the pleasure of photographing N & R's intimate wedding at the Garden Venue, and despite the downpour we had in the beginning it was truly a breath taking wedding. I can't wait to share this wedding with you, so you can see just how perfect this venue.

As a summer storm rolled in outside, the cozy atmosphere inside made the morning feel even more intimate, filled with laughter, anticipation, and unforgettable memories.

              One of the best features of The Garden Venue is its spacious getting ready room, designed with beautiful natural light that's perfect for timeless wedding photos. Even with the rain, the soft window light and dramatic skies created the dreamiest backdrop for documenting every detail before the ceremony. The Sweetest "I Do" at The Garden Venue

               There's something so special about a wedding ceremony where you can truly feel the love in every moment, and this one at The Garden Venue in Stony Plain, Alberta was exactly that. With soft natural light pouring into the ceremony space and every thoughtful detail coming together so beautifully, it felt calm, intimate, and full of emotion. Between the laughter, the happy tears, and the way these two looked at each other while exchanging their vows, it was impossible not to get caught up in the joy of it all. 

               Once they were officially husband and wife, they celebrated with the sweetest dip kiss before making their way back down the aisle through a tunnel of floating bubbles and cheering family and friends. It was one of those moments that felt so effortless and full of excitement—the kind you'll remember long after the day is over. Watching everyone celebrate around them was the perfect ending to such a heartfelt ceremony and the sweetest start to their next adventure together.

Stealing a Few Quiet Moments Together

               One of my favourite parts of any wedding day is finally getting a few quiet moments alone with the bride and groom. After spending the afternoon surrounded by family, friends, and all the excitement... this is where everything slows down for just a little while. As an Edmonton wedding photographer, these quiet moments are always some of my favourites to capture because they give couples a chance to simply be together and soak in everything they've just experienced. For this wedding at The Garden Venue the weather definitely kept us guessing. It had been down poured for most of the day, and we weren't sure if we'd even get outside for portraits. But as if the timing couldn't have been any better, the rain eased up just as we were ready to head out. We still kept the umbrellas close by (and they ended up making the cutest addition to a few photos!), but the fresh air, soft clouds, and post rain glow gave us the dreamiest light to work with.

              One of the things I absolutely love about The Garden Venue is that even if the weather doesn't cooperate, it photographs beautifully indoors. The natural light pouring through the windows creates such a bright, timeless feel, making it easy to capture beautiful wedding portraits without ever stepping outside. As an Alberta wedding photographer, I always encourage couples to choose a venue that offers beautiful indoor options, especially with our unpredictable weather. Having a venue like this means your photos will still feel light, elegant, and full of life no matter what Mother Nature decides to do. Thankfully, we got the best of both worlds — cozy indoor portraits, a few umbrella moments, and enough of a break in the rain to wander outside and create some beautiful memories together.

               Let's Get This Party Started

               One of my favourite features of this Stony Plain wedding venue is the beautiful open garden area, where guests can step outside, enjoy the fresh air, and spend time catching up with friends and family. It was especially meaningful seeing loved ones who had travelled from across Canada and even from other countries just to celebrate this incredible couple. There was so much laughter, so many hugs, and countless moments that reminded everyone what weddings are really about — bringing the people you love together in one place. Once everyone gathered inside, the evening was filled with heartfelt speeches that had the room laughing one minute and wiping away tears the next. You could feel just how deeply this couple is loved by every person in the room. And after dinner and the speeches were finished, it was time to kick off the party. The dance floor quickly filled with guests of all ages, and before long everyone was dancing the night away, celebrating the newlyweds and making memories they'll never forget. As an Edmonton wedding photographer, these genuine moments of connection, celebration, and pure joy are always some of my favourite memories to capture, and this reception at The Garden Venue was no exception.
